On June 18, 2025, Governor Newsom issued a State of Emergency Proclamation for the Franklin Fire in the City of Malibu. The high winds and red flag conditions made the Franklin Fire spread faster and grow more intensely. This was a serious danger to people’s lives, so the state issued evacuation orders.

On July 29, 2025, Governor Newsom issued a State of Emergency Proclamation for the 2025 Late March Winter Storms that struck Trinity County. These storms caused heavy rain, mudslides, debris flows and fallen trees, damaging roads and highways across Trinity County. This was a serious danger to people’s lives, so the state issued evacuation orders. As of this date, Liberty Dental Plan (Liberty) has not been impacted by this incident. The Plan does not expect to have any issues with our regular day to day operations. We will continue to be available to members. This includes after hours and on the weekend. We are sharing our availability to potentially impacted enrollees through this press release and our website.

On July 29, 2025, Governor Newsom issued a State of Emergency Proclamation for the 2025 February Storms affecting the following counties: Humboldt, Mendocino, Modoc, Napa, Shasta, Sonoma, and Trinity. The excessive rainfall, landslides, and widespread flooding affecting the roads and waterways made the conditions intensify. This was a serious danger to people’s lives, so the state issued evacuation orders. As of this date, Liberty Dental Plan (Liberty) has not been impacted by this incident. On May 28, 2025, Governor Newsom issued a State of Emergency Proclamation for the Victoria Island Levee Incident. A part of the levee which is a wall that holds back water, broke in San Joaquin County on October 21, 2024. As a result, a large amount of water rushed out fast and caused problems for homes, highway 4 and clean water nearby. The state is working to fix it.
